Athena Balance is a simple potassium silicate formula that buffers irrigation water thanks to its specific concentrate and stabilizes at the ideal pH. Silicon also benefits plant growth, stem structure, stress reduction, water use (osmoregulation) and nutrient utilization.
Commercial growers do best, particularly with reverse osmosis (RO) water, when they are first buffered with Athena Balance. Pure RO water has an unstable chemical structure that can trap other nutrients when added without a buffer. Athena Balance adds enough to the water to create a more homogeneous fertilizer solution and reduce the need to adjust the pH after mixing.
The formula does not contain sediment and is compatible with mechanical dosing systems (Dosatron). Athena Balance is not recommended for electronic dosing systems (Netafim).
